Step inside the Foxhills show home: interior designer insights from Maddie Dennis

Blog | 30 Sep 2025

We’ve opened the doors to our latest show home at Foxhills, inviting visitors to experience a home that blends comfort, character and style.

Foxhills is a development that combines contemporary living with a sense of community, offering thoughtfully designed homes in a location surrounded by greenery and charm.

To celebrate the launch, we caught up with interior designer Maddie Dennis to hear how she created the look and feel of the new show home and what prospective owners can expect when they step inside.

A design with a twist

This wasn’t a typical project that started with an empty canvas. Instead, Maddie worked with a collection of furniture carried over from another show home, giving the pieces a fresh lease of life and using them as the foundation for a new design.

She explains: “The textures, patterns and neutral tones of these pieces became my starting point. I then layered in vibrant pops of colour and bold accessories to create a light, spacious and welcoming atmosphere.”

By reimagining what was already there, Maddie created a space that feels fresh and stylish while also embracing a more sustainable approach to design. The result is a home that tells a new story, one that’s connected to the past but reinterpreted for today.

Colour, texture and inspiration

The carried-over pieces featured greens, blues and neutrals, a palette Maddie built upon with layered textures and statement accessories.

“I always think about the people who might live in the home,” she says. “It’s not just about staging a space, but about making it feel authentic, connected to the local surroundings and full of personality.”

Feature-painted walls define each room, while boucle and velvet fabrics add richness and warmth. Accessories, from lighting to playful artwork, give every corner its own character.

Spaces that shine

Certain rooms in the Foxhills show home are guaranteed to capture the imagination.

The living room feels both open and cosy, with cleverly zoned areas, sculptural chairs and delicate pendant lighting creating a focal point.

The third bedroom is designed with children in mind, combining a sense of fun with calmness. 3D animal heads and detailed artwork add charm, sparking curiosity while still keeping the space restful.

Even the utility room has been given its own personality, with bold paintwork and carefully chosen accessories elevating it from purely practical to quietly stylish.

Balancing style with everyday living

For Maddie, functionality is as important as style.

“Practical design doesn’t have to compromise on luxury,” she says. “I always picture myself living in the home I’m designing, it’s the best way to make sure each space feels inspiring, comfortable and usable.”

This approach means the Foxhills show home feels aspirational yet liveable, encouraging visitors to imagine how they might make the space their own.

A glimpse into 2025 trends

The show home also reflects wider design shifts. With more homeowners refreshing existing furniture rather than replacing it, accessories, lighting and paint colours are playing a bigger role in transforming interiors.

“Carefully chosen accents can make a huge impact without the need for big changes,” Maddie explains. “It’s all about elevating a space in meaningful but affordable ways.”

Sculptural, textured, tranquil

Asked to sum up the Foxhills show home in just three words, Maddie chooses: sculptural, textured & tranquil.

It’s a fitting description for a home that blends layered design with a sense of calm, inviting visitors to picture a lifestyle that is both stylish and liveable.
