Elivia Homes celebrates World Book Day with donations to local schools across the South East

News | 5 Mar 2026

Elivia Homes has been celebrating the joy of reading this World Book Day by donating more than £750 worth of book tokens to primary schools across Surrey, East Sussex and Kent.

The donations are designed to help pupils discover new books, spark imagination and support literacy development. Each school has been given the freedom to spend the book tokens on titles of their choice, enabling teachers to select books that best reflect their pupils’ interests, abilities and reading levels.

Supporting schools in Surrey

In Surrey, £480 worth of book tokens has been shared between three primary schools close to Elivia developments:

Mrs Sarah Leyland, Headteacher at The Vale Primary School, said: “We’re very grateful to Elivia Homes for this generous donation. Access to new books makes a real difference in motivating children to read, and this contribution will allow us to further enrich our school library and classroom collections.”

Encouraging young readers in East Sussex

In East Sussex, Elivia Homes donated £150 in book tokens to Blackboys CofE Primary School near Uckfield, close to its development, The Meadows.

Graham Sullivan at Blackboys CofE Primary School added: “We’re very grateful to Elivia Homes for this generous donation. Access to new books makes a real difference in motivating children to read, and this contribution will allow us to further enrich our school library and classroom collections.”

The Meadows, located on Framfield Road in Blackboys, is an exclusive collection of 50 high-quality new homes, including five First Homes. Nestled just three miles from Uckfield and within easy reach of the High Weald National Landscape, the development features 19.6 acres of parkland and a Trim Trail weaving through the green open spaces.

Sparking imagination in Kent

In Kent, £150 in book tokens was donated to Northdown Primary Academy in Margate, close to Elivia’s Kingsgate Place development in Broadstairs.

Samantha Fish, Deputy Headteacher at Northdown Primary Academy, commented: “We’re very grateful to Elivia Homes for this generous donation. Access to new books makes a real difference in motivating children to read, and this contribution will allow us to further enrich our school library and classroom collections.”

Kingsgate Place offers 24 beautifully crafted homes, ranging from three- to six-bedroom detached properties. Located just moments from the town’s golf course and iconic sandy beaches, the development combines generous living spaces with a sought-after coastal setting.

Building more than homes

Sarah Turpin, Sales and Marketing Director at Elivia Homes, said: “At Elivia Homes, we believe in building more than just houses, we’re helping to build communities. Supporting local schools is incredibly important to us, and World Book Day provides the perfect opportunity to encourage a lifelong love of reading. We hope these book tokens help inspire pupils to discover stories that excite, engage and encourage them.”
