Continuing to deliver high-quality homes to the village of Biddenden, Kent, premium regional homebuilder Elivia Homes has successfully exchanged contracts on a site at North Street, opposite its former award-winning The Maltings development.
The site, a parcel of undeveloped pastureland, benefits from outline planning consent for up to 50 dwellings, including 40% affordable housing, a community orchard and allotments, informal public open space and a sustainable drainage system. Following the exchange of contracts with promoter Gladman and their landowners, Elivia Homes will now look to submit their Reserved Matters application.
Elivia’s commitment to sustainability sits at the heart of the project. Homes will be constructed using timber frames and incorporate a range of eco-friendly features, including air-source heat pumps (ASHP), superior insulation, and electric vehicle charging points as standard.
George Gibbons, Land Manager at Elivia Homes Eastern, commented: "We are thrilled to have exchanged contracts on a new site in Biddenden, and to continue to provide high-quality homes to this sought-after location. We have started the process to submit our Reserved Matters application, with a positive pre-application already undertaken, and therefore hope to start delivering new homes here next year.”
Peter Hutson, Managing Director at Elivia Homes Eastern, adds: “As a business, we know Biddenden very well having already achieved great success with the award-winning The Maltings development. We now have the opportunity to mirror the quality and feel of that scheme on this new site.
“Our focus on sustainable construction and design ensures that the scheme will meet the housing needs of the local community, particularly through a significant number of affordable homes, while ensuring we leave a positive lasting legacy on the local environment.”
Situated approximately five miles north of Tenterden, Biddenden oozes traditional village charm while offering a number of amenities for added convenience. At the centre of the village, just a stone’s throw from the new development, there are a number of independent and well-known high street shops, restaurants, including the West House, which is listed on the Michelin Guide, cafes and a pub with the award winning Biddenden Vineyard located just under two miles to the south. The village also has two village halls and the local John Mayne C of E Primary School.
The site is situated just over three miles from Headcorn railway station which offers services to London Bridge in under an hour. Ashford International railway station is approximately 12.5 miles away, where regular services operate to both London St Pancras and Stratford in under 40 minutes.
This new project represents Elivia Homes’ ongoing commitment to creating exceptional, sustainable communities in aspirational locations across the South East. For further information about Elivia Homes developments in your area, visit https://www.eliviahomes.co.uk/developments.
