Elivia Homes is delighted to announce that it is sponsoring book bundles for local schools across Sussex, supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing. This forms part of the wider Community Book Pledge, an initiative encouraging local businesses to provide book bundles for Children’s Mental Health Week.
In West Sussex, Eastergate C.E. Primary School and Ormiston Six Villages Academy close to Elivia’s Saint George’s Park and Foxhills developments in Eastergate will receive the bundles, along with Albourne CE Primary and LVS Hassocks near The Woodlands in Sayers Common.
Meanwhile in East Sussex, Oak Tree Primary and Downlands Community School near Bluebell Gardens in Wivelsfield Green, will benefit, as will Jarvis Brook Primary and Beacon Academy close to The Brambles in Crowborough and Buxted Church of England Primary School near The Limes in Buxted.
Each bundle has been carefully selected to help young people understand their feelings, manage worries and focus on their wellbeing. Across Sussex, Surrey and Kent, the Community Book Pledge is delivering over £1,000 worth of books to 31 schools, with Elivia Homes proudly sponsoring the bundles for these local schools.
Chris Chiles, CEO at Elivia Homes, said, “We are proud to support children’s mental health through this initiative. Reading can be such a powerful tool for helping young people understand their emotions and build resilience and we hope these book bundles will make a meaningful difference to pupils across our communities.”
Jo Rogers runs ‘The Bumblebee Bookshop’, in partnership with Usborne Children’s Books. She organised this ‘Community Book Pledge’ and provided all the books for the book bundles.
She commented: “This initiative was created to support Children’s Mental Health Week, and I’m incredibly grateful to Elivia Homes for its generous contribution. As a teacher myself, I know how difficult it can be for young people to talk about mental health. I hope these books will make a real difference to schools and nurseries in the area, helping children understand their feelings, manage their worries, and focus on their wellbeing, whatever their age. With 35 book bundles going into schools across Sussex, Surrey and Kent, I hope we can make a real difference.”
The books will be delivered directly to each school over the coming weeks, giving pupils the opportunity to engage with them and spark meaningful conversations about mental health and wellbeing both at school and at home.
